day 23: harold's truck
We spend the days before Christmas with Hub's family. B has a cousin who is exactly 4 months older than him and they are 2 peas-in-a-pod. They love Grandpa's truck and always want to go on rides, so we obliged-it was Christmas after all. This was Hub's grandfather's truck which was passed down to his dad and which Hubs drove to high school everyday. So this picture is special to us because it captures the 4th generation of our family enjoying the truck.
As far as the picture goes, I had my f-stop low and because the boys were ready to get going on their adventure, I didn't take the time to change it, so B is out of focus. I still decided to use this because it was a big learning opportunity to me. This weekend was not my finest as far as photography goes, because I was trying to capture specific memories rather than being able to wait until I got saw a perfect lighting situation. I have a lot of work to do in this area. But the picture is still beautiful to me because it captures the love of a grandfather for his grandkids and their excitement in being with him doing one of their favorite things.
The boys held hands and arm wrestled the whole drive and were thrilled that they could look out the windshield; because the truck is so old, we didn't have to worry about passenger air-bags. We love Harold's truck!
