day 30: reading

I set up the tripod today.  The plan was to capture the kids on my lap reading stories, but they had ideas of their own, so we rolled with it.  They wanted to read stories by themselves and have me nibble their toes.  In the above picture I love the motherly look on E's face.  She gives B this face often because in her mind she is so much bigger and older than him.  In his mind, they are the same age; thus insues the serious sibling rivalry that comes from B thinking he should be doing everything E is doing and her thinking that he's not capable of doing anything.  Sometimes though, there are these beautiful moments of loving clarity during our day.   And I love that because I got out the camera, I was able to capture on of the things that makes my heart sing during the day.

And I'm cheating today and adding another pic:

I had to add this second picture today because I've been trying to get in more pictures.  I'm inclined to only use the pic above, but I love the simple beauty of this picture.  My kids don't care if I'm still in my workout clothes.  They just want me with them.  I love that E is holding B's ear.  She does this often.  I love that they're still in their pjs, I love that they are both cracking up at me nibbling E's toes.  I love being a mom.
