day 33: some play, some mistakes

Today we had one of those "we-have-no-idea-what-we're-doing-first-time-home-owner moments".   And we now have 4 huge gaping holes in our wall after drilling a dry wall anchor into metal that was unknown to us before our excavation.  I think it was just an excuse for me to paint soon:)

I should get upset when things like this happen, but I'm still too enthrawlled with the fact that this is my house and I can do whatever I want to.  I can drill a huge hole into my wall if I want.  I'll just fix it.  No need to call landlords, wait for someone to come fix it, or feel super guilty that I hurt someone else's property.  No, I just walk past those holes and smile because it doesn't matter.

I'm also adding yet another picture today.  (This blog is has a bit of an identity crises.  Sometimes it decides to be a photography blog and sometimes it decides to chronicle my life.  But whatever it is, I like it.)

This is the secondary picture because it's not my best work.  The focus is off and the composition isn't just right (that partial table in the corner is driving me batty), but I still love it with all my heart.  And so, because the blog is also for me to remember my life, I am including it.

This is what our mornings look like.  As of late, E often wears the clothing she wore the previous day because she is 3 and she is CERTAIN that pajamas are the worst things ever invented.  And sometimes, it's just not worth the fight ("pick your battles" my mom always says).  I figure there's nothing wrong with waking up looking fabulous.

B's hair is always disheveled and it takes him at least 20 minutes to figure out what is going on in the world.  He drags that dog out of bed with him (see, there it is again; it was pictured a few days ago also, just laying in the background) and then he plops down on the floor because he doesn't have the strength go any farther and he gets a dazed look in his eye while he tries with all his toddler coordination to sleepily make his toys perform the way he wants them to.

Every morning I have this amazing gold-ish-glow light that pours through my windows. And when I open those windows, the mountains in the distance blush with pinks and purples.  I will take that, everyday, with a fried egg on the side please.
