I just love that I have captured forever my handwriting and excitement about our house. I also love that you see glimpses of the rest of my life... my primary calling, play dates with friends, time set aside to work on my photography, dates...love it.
We actually moved in on the 31st. Need to remember that. Also that leading up to that I thought it was a great idea to shove in doctor appointments, volunteering to help at school carnivals, taking pictures for people, and on and on, to make myself as busy as possible while trying to move with two toddlers.
I had the idea to photograph our calendar because today i was thinking back to one of our craziest times. I was managing apartments, pregnant with our second baby with a 15-month-old E. B had heart problems in utero which required ultrasounds 2-3 times a week for the last 12 weeks of my pregnancy (at the time E was TERRIFIED of doctors and SCREAMED during the entire ultrasound EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Thank goodness I had amazing friends that watched her often.)
Hubs got knee surgery a month before I was due and couldn't drive to his job. He was still finishing up his bachelors and was working towards getting hired in a very competitive teaching market while on crutches. Because he couldn't drive, I had to drive him to and from not only his teaching each day, but his classes, and all his doctors appointments. April/May 2013 calendar literally had a doctor's visit on EVERY single week day on the calendar. Either Hubs or I were at the OBGYN/Physical Therapist that entire month. Not to mention we were juggling a baby, my own work responsibilities, my stake church calling, Hub's very time consuming calling, and packing to move the week after B was born.
Oh, it was great...and somehow it really wasn't stressful. It was one of those moments when you just do it because you know you have to; looking back, you wonder how you did it all without losing it. Anyway, I so wish I had taken a picture of that hilarious calendar. And so, I think it will be a yearly end of the year tradition to photograph my calendar to capture another look into our life. I'm so grateful for these opportunities to capture pieces of my life.
