day 46: tears

B is a child filled with emotion.  He feels "extreme" in any situation.  He's extremely happy, extremely sad, extremely excited, extremely frustrated, extremely curious, extremely downtrodden (and on and on).  Luckily, he is extremely happy most of the time.  This morning, he had a reason to be "extreme" as he slammed his face and got a bloody nose (although the sadness came from me making him sit on the counter so I could stop the blood from getting everywhere, not from it hurting).

Oh, goodness.  Look at this face of ultimate frustration-I've been hoping to get this caught on camera.  Like I explained above, he doesn't look like this often, but when he gets even the tiniest bit sad, this is what he looks like.  People think he must be tragically hurt when they hear him in a mildly sad situation, if I'm in a store, people come running to help a mother whose child has surely cut their arm in half only to find me with a child who had to let go of his toy long enough for me to stuff his arm into his jacket sleeve.  (True story, people really come running to me when I'm in public for one of his meltdowns).  I also love that this picture captures his HUGE hands; this boy had man hands right out of the womb.  Also, do you not LOVE his disheveled bed head look?  It makes my heart pitter-patter with motherly love.

Although my home has been filled with constant crying and meltdowns today from both children, we've made it though.  It's naptime folks.  And today, there is no question, the vacuum will have to wait; I will be taking a long, hot bath.
