day 54: paint

This brown wall has been on my hit list ever since we moved in.  I like my living area light and bright, and it was a downer to me that the moment I, or anyone else, walked into my home they were hit with a wall of brown.  Not only that, but my carpet is brown, and I have wood flooring, so there was a lot of dark going on.

Luckily, the last home owners left all their paint for us and there was a full gallon that matched the rest of the upstairs.  Free project?  Yes please!  Mom Doutre along with Hub's sister and our sister from China (exchange student who will always be one of us) used their break off of school to come help me paint.  We whipped it out pretty quickly and I am SO grateful that they came to help.  Also, my mom took my kids for the day.  We could've never gotten it down with them around...I can see the finger prints now:)
This is a "progress" picture.  These two were our faithful rollers and did a pretty fantastic job, I might add.

Seriously better, right!?  Next on my list... staining the banister.  Which will be another free project (thank you Relief Society Activity left over stain), just have to find the time.
