I've been wanting to do some macro work and today was the perfect opportunity; my $3 bunch of daisies is nearing the end. These babies have stayed strong for more than 2 weeks... pretty good for $3! (Thank you Walmart)
I could stare at this photograph for a long time taking in all the details. I love the smooth petals that look so creamy, I wish they were my bed sheets. I love that little rebellious petal that wants to do it's own thing by sticking up in the complete "wrong" direction. I could go on, but I'll let the picture do the talking.
My prompt for today was "on my counter" and luckily, I happened to have 2 of my favorite things on my counter at the time, flowers and a bowl of lemons/limes. Add a cutting board to the mix and forget it, I've swooned. For some reason these 2 things give me a kick of domesticity that doesn't exist without them. It makes me want to scrub my kitchen sink and clean my windows, just so that the rest of my kitchen can look as bright and welcoming they are. It may be worth the few extra bucks each shopping trip to keep them stocked...my house would thank me.
