day 65: simplicity

Clutter: it is everywhere in my life.  There is always a match box car, or a princess, or a lego, or a crayon, or stray pieces of cereal left over from breakfast underfoot.  No matter how often I clean, the toilet paper gets ripped and shredded all over the house, the phone gets dropped in the toilet, the kids jump on my newly-made-with-absolutely-no-wrinkles bed, someone draws on a wall.

That is my stage of life right now.  I chose this.  And there is beauty in it, I know.  But that doesn't stop it from being trying and exhausting.  It doesn't stop my desire to have uncluttered beauty around me.

I think for this reason, I have been really drawn to photos that use negative space well.  I find myself breathing a little easier when I see them.  It is beautiful to me.  So this week, I hope to have "negative space" be my main motivation when seeking inspiration for my photos.

I also love me some texture, and although I was seeking for the space, I also needed to capture some of the rust on my...blob? Industrial Sphere? Geometric Globe?  It's totally lopsided, which makes it all the more interesting to me. These lines are beautiful.  Feast your eyes.
