day 5: 10am lunch
Sometimes when my kids wake up at 5:30am for the day, I let them watch a show while they eat lunch. Mostly because I'm ready for the ornery, whining, crying to be done; it is a totally selfish endeavor, I admit. Yours truly is NOT a morning person, and my patience is SHOT by lunch (or 10am). My kids know when I start whispering that I'm really losing it. I really try to speak more quietly as i get frustrated; It's my way to calm myself down so I don't fly off the handle at them. I have whispered a lot today.
However, there are still beautiful moments and memories even in these hard days; things I want to remember forever. Like the fact that E wears these pink Sunday shoes EVERY DAY. She also refuses to wear anything but leggings or skirts/dresses. She is most definitely 3 and has opinions on everything we should do, what I should say (I'll respond in a certain way and she'll say, "No mom! Say "such-and-such!"), what she should wear, what we should eat, what B should do, and on and on. She is also incredibly sweet, smart, and loving.
As far as the critique goes, I'm content with how it turned out. My eye is a little distracted by the fridge (all the magnets and orange paper draw your eye away from E), but because this photo project is also about capturing my life, not just making beautiful images, I'm glad i didn't take them down. I just wish I had a blurred the background a little more. I also wish I had pulled the I-pad a little to the left. If it is going to be part of the picture, I would prefer it to be seen a little more. I also might have moved the pot out of the shot. But, once again, it is part of my life to have some dishes on my counter.
