day 7: E is sick
E was up all night throwing up. Lovely. That means she couldn't go to nursery today. Even though she was feeling okay by church time (I can't trust this girl, she's too tough for her own good-she says she's totally fine when she has a fever of 100*F). That means she begged and begged to go to church all day long. Luckily, one of her amazing nursery leaders was called into the Relief Society Presidency with me so she brought a little gift for all the kids to say goodbye and she sent E's home with me. E thought that was the most special thing that has ever happened. It was a beautiful picture of Jesus to put in her room along with a Candy cane and this note. E is reading the note to me in this picture; according to her it says, "Dear Sissy, I love you." Isn't that great that she's perfectly confident that her teachers love her? They are the best I tell you.
I love that I captured the foggy sunlight streaming through the window. Once again, if I were more aware of surroundings before I shot, I would've moved the stuff on the chair and the blanket that's on the floor behind E. I also would've used more bokeh (if I had a lense that could do aperture less than f4.5). But overall, I'm really proud of myself. I saw the opportunity, ran for my camera, and was able to set my light settings correctly (or at least close enough) on the first try in order to capture this shot. My manual skills have developed so much even in one week. 7 days ago, I wouldn't have been able to guess what my light settings should be at for this situation and I would've missed the moment.
